The Big Pharma CON

Big Pharma has been conning us for a very long time into believing we need a drug for everything. Seriously, everything. Every magazine, every television show and everywhere you click on the internet has commercials for a drug that of course is exactly what you need for whatever ails you at the moment. You probably didn’t even know you needed it until you saw the commercial. Having reached menopause, I do know what a hot flash and night sweat feels like, but taking a drug that may cause “probable dementia” or “feelings of suicide” along with a host of other side effects including heart attack, gall bladder disease and stroke, to name a few, do not seem like the best choice to me. What about you? Look, I know we all know someone who was saved by some drug. Antibiotics alone have saved a lot of people since it’s discovery, but now we have so overused them, our chances of them working for us if we are hit with this or that disease becomes iffy. I had a kidney infection this year that required antibiotics. The first one the PA prescribed me had a side effect that could cause your achilles tendon to snap. I read that and I said no way am I taking this. That would affect me in such an adverse way that I was not willing to take the chance. So I called and got a new prescription for an old time antibiotic that did the trick. The PA thought I was overreacting, but would I be if I was that one person??? So this...
